Who we are

We are a not-for-profit, family-run organization that has served Waterbury and the surrounding area for well over 20 years, providing children from central Vermont a low-cost opportunity to swim competitively. Most of our swimmers are from the Waterbury area, but our team members also live in Duxbury, the Mad River Valley, Moretown, Barre, Montpelier, Stowe, and beyond. There is no "residency requirement" -- everyone is welcome. All swimmers, whether Waterbury residents or not, must have a Waterbury pool pass.

Our emphasis is on fun and improvement. Kids not only get to race, but in the process they become stronger swimmers and safer in the water.

The Rapids compete in the Green Mountain (Central Vermont) Swim League. We swim at the Town of Waterbury Pool. We are very pleased to announce that our 2022 coaches are Jaime Heath (head coach), Emily Grace Spaulding, Lindsay McNall and Mia Diller are assistant coaches.

Our 2022 season begins Monday, June 20, and the Vermont State Championships meet (August 6th & 7th) for any swimmers achieving the qualifying time standards.
